This ranch is loaded with free range Axis Deer. The Texas Hill Country region boasts over 30,000 Axis Deer with our ranch centralized in the heart of this area. Even though this specific region of Texas is not normally known for an abundance of free-range exotics, this unique ranch and immediate surrounding areas have several significant herds of Axis. These gorgeous animals provide clients of The 507 Ranch with year-round hunting opportunities for both the trophy and meat-pursuing sportsman.

The challenging Axis Deer have similar habits of our native whitetail deer, and are extremely wary and flighty making for a difficult and rewarding hunt.

This region offers some of the best free range whitetail opportunities in the Texas Hill country. In fact, the most famous and historic free-range whitetail deer ever taken in Texas, the renowned “Brady Buck,” was harvested on the Ford Ranch that adjoins The 507 Ranch on two sides.

The 507 Ranch has been under proper management program for several years to maximize the whitetail quality. The ranch has an excellent buck/doe ratio and the current “full on” feeding program has allowed these animals to reach great potential.
